Our Platform organized an important educational event with the Child Rights Workshop on November 20, 2020. This special event was organized in a primary school to celebrate International Children's Rights Day. The workshop focused on the rights set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and aimed to provide children with detailed information about these rights.
The event provided children not only with information but also with opportunities to participate and actively engage in reflection processes. In this context, a collective learning environment was offered to the students, aiming to reinforce learning through group work and interactive activities. The active participation of each child and the encouragement of interaction and sharing allowed the children to feel as subjects contributing to the activity, rather than just receiving information.
Our pedagogues were at the forefront during the event. They guided the children, answered their questions and supported their understanding and learning throughout the activity. This contributed to the students finding the courage to ask more questions and express their thoughts freely.
The aim of the workshop was to ensure that children not only learn about the Convention on the Rights of the Child, but also interact with each other and learn from different perspectives. In this way, children both deepened their knowledge and had a collective learning experience. Such activities are one of the important steps that contribute to raising children's awareness of their rights and raising them as individuals who are sensitive to their social responsibilities.
