I Care About Kids - Workshop Highlights

The second day of the Erasmus+ KA152-YOU Mobility of Young People project "I Care About Kids" (Project Code: 2023-1-FR02-KA152-YOU-000145811) One of the main highlights of the day was a hands-on kite-making workshop, where participants learned how to design and build their own kites using simple materials. Beyond being an enjoyable creative activity, the workshop illustrated how interactive experiences can improve children's imagination, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and self-confidence. Participants discussed how similar activities can be introduced within local communities to encourage children to spend more time outdoors and engage in meaningful social interaction.

To strengthen teamwork and group communication, participants also joined an energising team-building game that encouraged cooperation, trust, and active participation. Working together in an informal environment helped the international group strengthen relationships while demonstrating how playful learning methods can effectively support personal and social development.

Another educational session focused on the developmental benefits of kite flying. Participants explored how outdoor play contributes to children's physical coordination, creativity, concentration, and emotional well-being. The discussion also addressed the growing impact of excessive screen time on children's daily lives and highlighted the importance of providing healthy alternatives that support balanced development.

The day concluded with a collaborative reflection session where participants evaluated the activities, exchanged feedback, and proposed ideas for the following programme days. These discussions reinforced the project's commitment to continuous learning and active participation while ensuring that every participant had the opportunity to contribute to the project's development.

Through another productive day of non-formal education, Kicsi Szívek Gyermekoktatási Központ Egyesület continued to strengthen international cooperation while gaining new educational approaches that can support children, families, and youth work within local communities long after the project has ended.
